Hyundai Mobis
Smarter Spare Parts Warehouse
Challenges
The spare parts warehouse manages thousands of SKUs while supporting maintenance orders, inventory transfer orders, and B2B parts orders, placing increasing demands on response speed, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
As maintenance demand continued to grow, service technicians frequently spent valuable time searching for, collecting, and transporting parts instead of focusing on vehicle servicing.
Hyundai Mobis required an automation solution that could:
-
Improve parts availability and response speed
-
Increase picking efficiency and operational accuracy
-
Reduce technician travel for parts collection and transportation
-
Improve the warehouse working environment while reducing labor intensity
-
Build a standardized solution that can be replicated across future service centers
Solution
Hai Robotics deployed the HaiPick System to automate the storage, retrieval, picking, and delivery of spare parts.
When orders are released, HaiPikc A42T robots automatically retrieve the required storage totes, then the totes will be delivered to ergonomic picking workstations. After picking is completed, Fast-transit AMR K50H robots transport the selected parts directly to the repair workstations, creating a seamless connection between warehouse operations and vehicle servicing.
The solution supports maintenance orders, inventory transfer orders, and B2B parts orders. By transforming the workflow from people-to-goods to goods-to-person, it significantly improves warehouse efficiency and parts flow throughout the maintenance process.
Results
Faster Parts Fulfillment
-
System throughput reaches 133 totes per hour
-
Fast response across maintenance, inventory transfer, and B2B parts orders
Higher Warehouse Productivity
-
Approximately 2.5× improvement in picking efficiency
-
Higher picking accuracy with fewer manual errors
-
Increased capacity to handle peak operational demand
Better Human-Robot Collaboration
The HaiPick System transforms warehouse operations from people-to-goods to goods-to-person.
Robots take over repetitive parts retrieval and transportation tasks, significantly reducing technician travel and physical workload while creating a cleaner, more organized warehouse environment. As a result, service technicians can spend more time on vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and customer service.
Ready for Future Expansion
The standardized automation solution provides a scalable model that can be replicated across additional Hyundai Mobis service centers. The system can also be expanded by adding robots and workstations as business requirements grow.
"By having robots perform the entire process of picking and transporting service parts, our engineers can focus more on vehicle diagnosis and customer communication. The future of service lies in people and robots complementing each other."
