MAIGE's Challenges
Serving multiple brands meant managing diverse SKUs, small-batch orders, and fluctuating inventory turnover. Seasonal promotions could push order volumes to several times their usual level, increasing pressure on warehouse space and staffing.
High local labor and warehouse costs made simply adding people or space an expensive response. MAIGE needed to:
-
Accommodate more inventory within a limited storage footprint.
-
Reduce repetitive handling and the associated labor costs.
-
Process complex small-item orders efficiently and accurately.
-
Maintain dependable fulfillment during daily operations and seasonal peaks.
Our Solution
MAIGE deployed HaiPick Climb to connect tote putaway, storage, retrieval, and workstation delivery. The solution combines tall, double-deep racking with automated tote handling and goods-to-person picking.
During receiving, operators scan and associate products with totes before robots move them into storage. For outbound orders, robots retrieve the required totes and deliver them to picking workstations.
Integrated with MAIGE’s in-house WMS, HaiQ coordinates inventory movement and robot tasks. Storage planning, wave management, and robot routing help organize work as order volumes and priorities change.
Storage Area: 600 square meters / approximately 6,458 square feet
Racking Height: 8 meters / approximately 26.2 feet
Storage Configuration: Double-deep racking
Robots: 25 HaiClimbers
Workstations: 4 buffered inbound workstations and 5 outbound picking workstations
Storage Capacity: 11,000+ tote locations

Results & Impact
More Inventory Within a Limited Footprint
By using vertical space and double-deep storage, MAIGE accommodates more customer inventory within the available storage area. Storage capacity reaches four times the previous level, reducing the pressure to rent additional space and helping spread storage costs across more inventory.
Lower Labor Costs, Less Staffing Pressure
Automated tote storage and delivery reduce the walking and repetitive transport required in manual operations. Staff can focus on workstation tasks, helping MAIGE reduce labor costs by 75% and manage fulfillment with less pressure on recruitment and training.
Efficient, Accurate Small-item Fulfillment
Coordinated inventory movement brings the required products to operators for picking, simplifying the handling of complex small-item orders. The facility achieves 465 totes per hour in outbound throughput, with picking and putaway accuracy above 99.99%. This supports timely order processing while limiting costly fulfillment errors.
Reliable Service Through Demand Peaks
MAIGE combines automated handling with coordinated storage, wave planning, and robot scheduling to respond to changing workloads. The operation has maintained consistent performance through daily fulfillment and seasonal peaks, including Black Friday and Christmas, giving MAIGE greater confidence in supporting its customers when demand rises.
Capacity That Can Grow with Customer Needs
The modular system allows MAIGE to add robots and workstations as requirements evolve, without a major redesign of the storage area. This provides a practical path to expand fulfillment capacity alongside its customers’ businesses.
