TOP's Challenges
A broad product assortment and high volumes of small, multi-item orders placed pressure on storage and picking operations. Limited space, labor-intensive handling, and promotional demand surges made it difficult to increase capacity efficiently.
TOP needed a solution that could:
-
Accommodate more inventory within the available warehouse space.
-
Improve picking and dispatch efficiency across online sales channels.
-
Reduce manual travel, handling, and operational labor requirements.
-
Maintain accurate inventory and shipments at high order volumes.
-
Expand in stages to match business growth.
The Solution
TOP deployed HaiPick Climb to support household-product storage and e-commerce picking. The system combines rack-climbing robots, tote storage, buffered inbound workstations, and goods-to-person picking workstations, with coordinated scheduling managing tote movement from receiving through storage and order picking.
TOP implemented the project in two phases, establishing the initial system before adding robots and workstations as fulfillment demand grew.
Racking Height: 9.6 m
Robots: 30 HaiClimbers
Workstations: 12 inbound stations and 13 outbound workstations
Storage Capacity: 6,500+ storage locations
Results & Impact
Faster Processing, Timely Dispatch
Automated tote delivery reduces manual retrieval, while coordinated parcel handling helps move completed orders toward carrier collection. Together, these processes support timely dispatch across multiple sales channels. The facility picks 35,000+ orders daily, with fulfillment efficiency reaching three times the previous level.
Less Manual Handling, Lower Labor Requirements
By automating tote retrieval and transport, TOP reduces the time staff spend walking and moving inventory. Operators can focus on picking, helping reduce operational labor requirements by approximately 40%.
More Inventory within the Available Footprint
Making fuller use of vertical space allows TOP to accommodate inventory in a smaller storage footprint, easing pressure on warehouse space. The solution reduces warehouse space requirements by 50%.
Greater Confidence in Every Shipment
System-managed inventory movement and order processing help TOP maintain reliable stock records and dispatch the correct products. Both inventory accuracy and shipment accuracy exceed 99.99%, supporting consistent service across its own operations and third-party business.
Capacity Added as the Business Needs It
TOP can expand automation capacity by adding robots and workstations as demand grows. The two-phase deployment demonstrates how investment can follow operational needs, providing a practical foundation for future expansion.
