Project Background & Challenges

Bella Aurora Labs

Spain
Healthcare

Founded in 1890, Bella Aurora Labs is a cosmetics brand specializing in skincare and anti-spot treatments. With a commitment to innovation and dermatological science, the company distributes its products across pharmacies and specialty retail channels in Spain and international markets.

As Bella Aurora Labs’ portfolio and business continued to expand, the company embraced the opportunity to modernize its logistics operations, enhancing efficiency while supporting an elevated customer experience.

Operating in a multibrand, multichannel environment, the company manages a growing SKU portfolio distributed across pharmacies and specialty retail channels in Spain and international markets. This reality brings increasing operational complexity and rising performance expectations.

Bella Aurora sought a solution that could:

- Improve storage density within existing space

- Enhance picking performance and responsiveness

- Support scalable growth

- Avoid major infrastructure disruption

The objective was not only to automate, but to build a flexible foundation capable of evolving alongside the business. Together with system integrator LYL, Hai Robotics deployed a HaiPick System 3 (HPS3) solution designed to deliver high-density storage and fast tote handling within a compact footprint of under 640 sqm.

HaiPick System 3 (HPS3) solution

Our Solution

At the core of the solution is HaiPick System 3 - one of Hai Robotics’ most advanced systems - designed for ultra-dense storage and fast-paced order handling. The system uniquely combines two types of autonomous robots:

  • 8 HaiPick A42TD-G-E1 ACRs handle high-density storage at up to 8 meters, retrieving totes stored triple deep within compact aisles.

  • 15 Fast-transit K50 AMRs retrieve priority totes from the bottom rack layer and transport them to workstations at up to 4 meters per second, ensuring fast turnaround for outbound orders.

The solution also includes 2 conveyor lines for inbound and outbound handling, and 4 desktop picking stations, including 1 reserved for redundancy. A simplified grey box HaiQ software setup was chosen for ease of integration, and safety measures include core interlocks for system protection.

Together, the robots operate within a footprint less than 650 sqm, managing approx. 8,000 storage locations and reaching a throughput of approx. 300 totes per hour - a setup specifically tailored to Bella Aurora’s SKU profile, available space, and workflow.

Operational Impact

Operating in less than 650 sqm, the HaiPick System 3 manages approximately 8,000 storage locations and achieves a throughput of around 300 totes per hour, combining high-density vertical storage with fast tote handling.

Space Optimization

By leveraging vertical storage up to nearly 8 meters and double-deep configuration, the solution maximizes capacity without expanding the building footprint.

Performance & Responsiveness

The dual-robot architecture, separating storage retrieval from tote transportation, ensures smooth outbound flow and rapid order handling.

Modular Scalability

The system’s modular design allows Bella Aurora to expand gradually, adding robots or capacity in line with business growth, supporting long-term agility.

Rather than a one-time upgrade, the deployment establishes a scalable logistics foundation aligned with the brand’s innovation-driven culture.

Testimonials

“For Bella Aurora, a brand with over a century of heritage in skincare, embracing robotic automation reflects the same pioneering spirit that drives its scientific innovation in cosmetics.”
