E-commerce

LPP Logistics manages the logistics operations of the LPP Group, operating a growing network of highly automated fulfillment centers that support the company's omnichannel strategy. To meet rapidly growing e-commerce demand across South-Eastern Europe, LPP Logistics launched a new fulfillment center near Bucharest, Romania. Strategically located to serve Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece and Hungary, the facility strengthens the company's logistics capacity while supporting future growth.

LPP Logistics

The Challenge

Following the rapid acceleration of e-commerce during and after the pandemic, LPP Logistics faced increasing pressure to expand fulfillment capacity while maintaining operational efficiency.

The company needed a solution capable of supporting:

  • Rapidly growing order volumes

  • Increasing SKU variety

  • Faster delivery expectations

  • Long-term scalability without disrupting ongoing operations

  • Higher storage density within the available footprint

Traditional manual picking processes required significant labor movement and limited operational efficiency as order volumes continued to grow. LPP Logistics sought a highly automated solution that could increase productivity, improve storage utilization, and support future business expansion.

The Solution

To support its next stage of growth, LPP Logistics deployed a large-scale HaiPick System 3 solution at its Romania fulfillment center. The system combines 278 HaiPick Automated Case-handling Robots (ACRs) and 670 Fast-transit Companion AMRs, working together to deliver high-density storage, intelligent goods-to-person fulfillment, and flexible material transport throughout the operation.

With 630,000+ automated storage locations and the capacity to store up to 7.5 million apparel and accessory items, the solution enables LPP Logistics to significantly increase storage density while maintaining operational flexibility.

Designed around scalability, the system allows throughput capacity to be expanded through additional robots and workstations as business requirements evolve, without major infrastructure changes or disruption to ongoing operations.

The project was delivered in less than six months, enabling LPP Logistics to rapidly expand fulfillment capacity while maintaining operational continuity.

Results & Impact

The new fulfillment center delivers substantial improvements across storage capacity, operational efficiency, and future scalability.

Improved Fulfillment Efficiency & Faster Service Levels

Powered by 278 ACRs and 670 AMRs, the goods-to-person solution eliminates extensive operator travel and significantly improves picking productivity. The automated workflow enables faster order fulfillment while improving workplace ergonomics and operational consistency.

The facility is designed to process more than 80,000 orders per day, supported by automated sortation capable of handling up to 14,000 parcels per hour, helping LPP Logistics deliver faster service across South-Eastern Europe.

Increased Density and SKU Capacity

With ~640,000 automated storage locations supporting up to 7.5 million items, the HaiPick System 3 solution provides the storage density required to support LPP Logistics' growing assortment and expanding SKU portfolio.

Scalable Growth Platform

The system was designed with future expansion in mind. Additional robots, workstations, and throughput capacity can be added as business requirements evolve, allowing LPP Logistics to scale operations without major infrastructure changes.

Why Hai Robotics

For LPP Logistics, selecting the right automation partner was about more than technology alone.

The company sought a partner capable of understanding its operational requirements, supporting future growth plans, and working collaboratively to develop the optimal solution.

According to the LPP Logistics team, a key differentiator was Hai Robotics' ability to listen to customer needs, adapt solutions to operational requirements, and work closely with stakeholders to create long-term value.

Rather than delivering a standard off-the-shelf product, the collaboration focused on building a scalable fulfillment solution aligned with both current operational goals and future business growth.
