GIGABYTE
Los Angeles Fulfillment Center
Project Introduction
GIGABYTE, a global leader in electronics manufacturing, operates a major fulfillment center in Los Angeles. Facing a highly competitive market, they needed a smarter way to manage a wide range of product types and handle growing order volumes efficiently.

GIGABYTE confronted several key challenges:
-
Labor shortages and high cost of training new staff
-
Traditional storage methods that limited space utilization
-
Managing a diverse product mix, from individual items to full cases and pallets
-
The urgent need to improve order accuracy and speed to stay competitive
To tackle these challenges, GIGABYTE implemented the HaiPick System 2 — a flexible, scalable Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) designed for mixed-type picking. Key customer solution stats:
Automation Area: 1,800 square meters (19,375 square feet)
Shelving Height: 5.715 meters (18.75 feet)
Robots: 5 Autonomous Case-handling Mobile Robots (ACRs) + 4 Heavy-duty Companion Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)
Workstations: 2 conveyor workstations, 2 on-robot picking workstations
Tote: 1000x600x200 mm, 50kg
Storage Capacity: 4,500+ locations for totes, 400+ locations for pallets
HaiPick System 2’s dual-robot design enables seamless handling of mixed product types:
-
ACRs retrieve totes, cases, and loose goods from shelves up to 39+ feet (12 meters) high, maximizing vertical space.
-
AMRs manage bulk and palletized items at ground level, optimizing internal transport.
This integrated approach consolidates mixed-type storage into a compact zone, shrinking the warehouse footprint by up to 75% while boosting operational efficiency by as much as 600%. Ergonomic workstations bring products directly to workers, drastically reducing walking and manual labor.
Since deploying the HaiPick System 2, GIGABYTE has achieved:
- 2x increase in storage density, maximizing use of existing warehouse space
- Streamlined operations with fewer manual touchpoints and more ergonomic working conditions for employees
- Faster onboarding, with new employees working on the floor within hours
- Over 99% order picking accuracy, ensuring high customer satisfaction
- A scalable system that can expand storage or add robots to meet future demand
